Sumnima Rana, Intern

Sumnima Rana was involved in Bihani Social Venture as an intern through Kathmandu Model College (KMC) for a period of 7months from 2018-2019.

“I remember the activities conducted while I was a part of Bihani. The most memorable one was the art session which Ritchie and I organized with the help of other volunteers. It was memorable because it gave us a chance to make others happy and valued. Working in Bihani has impacted my life in a lot of ways. I grew up in a nuclear family, so I did not get a chance to interact with my grandparents. During my time in Bihani, I finally got the chance. I had the opportunity to interact with elders in a much deeper way and observe their activities and skills. I also learned about how a social enterprise works and how was it different from NGOs and INGOs. Moreover, my time in Bihani helped me to adjust and work with all age groups. I am very thankful to Bihani and the team.”

She is currently supporting Prisoner Assistance Nepal (PA Nepal)in Kathmandu and studying Master’s in Conflict, Peace and Development Studies in Tribhuwan University.
